"Jackass Forever": Highly Recommended For Fans Of The Series

 "Jackass Forever": Movie Review

Written By Alex Greenbaum

The fourth "Jackass" installment, much like the others, remains permanently review proof. As a huge fan of every film, including their "Wildboyz" TV show, there's not a whole lot to thoughtfully analyze. You either really enjoy the insanely off-the-wall behavior or you think it's the worst trash imaginable. Rarely will you find a viewer shrug their shoulders in indifference. Personally, I'm a fan of that gross out, slapstick humor that Johnny Knoxville, Jeff Tremaine, and Spike Jonze (yes, that Spike Jonze) have created. "Jackass Forever" is not the best installment but between its hilarious newcomers and seemingly endless array of skits, I couldn't recall any other film this year making me laugh as hard.

Between Knoxville sustaining brain damage by a rampaging bull to Steve-O placing hundreds of bees (including the queen) on his genitalia, things have not changed in over a decade since their last release. It's as cruel and stupid as you can imagine, and man, does Ehren Mcghehey get the worst punishment of all, with at least enough nut shots to make the mentally strongest of viewers squirm in pain. But you can't help but laugh at the absurdity of it all, even when the skits go off the rails.

That's counting one of the more ludicrous beginning intros, on par with the "Jackass Number Two" ending dance number. It pushes the limits on the R rating and am still finding myself wondering how they didn't receive the NC-17 rating based on the amount of male full frontal nudity and violence. Pushing each skit to the limit is what makes "Jackass Forever" a memorable entry into this long running series. Due to its non narrative structure, I will not be giving it a star rating but rather a thumbs up. The film comes highly recommended for fans of the series.
