"Greyhound": Impossible To Recommend

"Greyhound": Movie Review

Written By Alex Greenbaum

Tom Hanks's new film "Greyhound" relies all too heavily on horrendous CGI, dull two-dimensional characters, and a heap of unconvincing action sequences. For a film set on delivering incredibly realistic dialogue, there's an irrational amount of brainless CGI moments that make "Greyhound" impossible to recommend, even for avid history buffs.

During World War 2, an inexperienced Naval commander (Hanks) leads a British convoy through Nazi-infested waters.

Besides the truly dedicated screenplay (written by Hanks) there's an overabundance of unintentionally hilarious moments that sink (no pun intended) any of its remaining qualities. With an emphasis on the spectacle, "Greyhound" fails in almost every facet, including any sort of sentiment for these brave men. And for Hanks, this quite possibly (along with "Larry Crowne") will go down as one of his worst films he's ever made.
