"Leave No Trace"-Ben Foster and Thomasin McKenzie Will Shake You To The Bone

"Leave No Trace"-Movie Review

"Leave No Trace" is a film carried by two tremendous performances at the forefront. Ben Foster and Thomasin McKenzie are brilliant as a father and daughter combo struggling to come to terms with living in the modern age.

However, the actual storytelling portion is it's Achilles heel.

Its slow and methodical, which is to it's detriment in many aspects. The main message behind the film is not fully fleshed out by dialogue but rather by it's scenic storytelling. Which creates an unfortunate disconnect between the various scenes of dialogue.

But "Leave No Trace" is an extraordinary feat from an acting point of view. It's one of those films that develops through characters, and the two lead actors will shake you to the bone.

It's easy for a film like this to fall for cliches, but it avoids them like the plague, always keeping the dynamic fresh and real. And being as real as it is, creates a heartbreaking relationship with the characters on screen. It's certainly not the best film of the year, but it will stick with you long after the credits roll.
