Solo: A Star Wars Story-The Best Star Wars Film Since The Originals

Solo: A Star Wars Story- Movie Review

I was not looking forward to "Solo: A Star Wars Story". Exhausted from mainstream blockbusters, my expectations were incredibly low. But "Solo" has reinvigorated that excitement, giving Star Wars that charm we've all been waiting for.

Han Solo's (Alden Ehrenreich) backstory takes the captains chair, giving audiences a better understanding of his roots. From meeting Chewbacca to Lando, to even further understanding his love life, the film gives Han Solo a much needed personality.

And thats special thanks to the wonderful cast. Woody Harrelson, Donald Glover, Thandie Newton, Emilia Clarke and more are charming and lovely to watch. But it's Ehrenreich that really is a joy to root for. Sure, it doesn't feel like your necessarily watching Han Solo, but he gives off this arrogant charisma, that jolts the film with tremendous momentum.

Surprisingly, director Ron Howard's 300 million dollar budget has paid off. The action is big, loud and boisterous. The quick witted dialogue is great, and while the jokes don't hit the mark all the time, the chemistry sure does.

The music is also beautifully scored. The iconic theme is implemented perfectly, as well as the original score. It's all done with precise care, all the while giving fans that nostalgic feel.

"Solo: A Star Wars Story" is the best Star Wars film since the originals. It's fast paced, electrifying fun. It's not perfect, and follows a formula we've seen before, but these cast of characters are worth the price of admission alone.
