Deadpool 2: Movie Review
"Deadpool 2" is a wonderful sequel.
It's bigger, better, and more importantly, funnier than the first. It capitalizes on the wacky universe of Deadpool, while delivering an involving and surprisingly emotional character driven experience.
The plot surfaces as Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) finds himself protecting a young mutant (Julian Dennison) against the evil cyborg, Cable (Josh Brolin). While sounding somewhat predictable and plain, "Deadpool 2" is full of twists and turns you will not see coming. Largely due to the solid cast, the film works as a slapstick comedy, and a lightheared drama.
The action is a ton of fun as well. It maintains a balancing act of intense goriness, and flat out hilarious humor, creating a formula not done since the film "Kick-Ass" in 2010.
However, will "Deadpool 2" end up on my top movies of 2018? Probably not, but it's one of the best times I've had at the movies this year, and will go down as an instant Marvel classic.
